The Windmill Centre

Visit our beautiful location on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

The Waltham Windmill Centre is a family friendly site offering a number of attractions for all the family.


The site is managed by Waltham Windmill Trust.


The Centre is situated in the village of Waltham, 4 miles south of Grimsby.


Come and enjoy a visit :


  • The centrepiece is the iconic windmill. A tower mill built in 1880, it is the only working windmill in Lincolnshire at the time of writing. The millwright considers it to be one of the best in the country.

  • Step back in time and visit the Museum of Rural Life.

  • Interested in WWII and the Lancaster bombers that once flew for RAF Grimsby (Waltham)?  Visit the RAF Grimsby exhibition in the Museum of Rural Life. The Museum is housed in an original WWII Nissen Hut which was the WAAF’s mess in the Second World War.

  • Visit a small selection of retail units and a restaurant.

  • Take the family for a ride on the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Model Engineering Society miniature railway.

  • FREE parking, toilets and children’s play area.

Food and refreshments are available on site depending on opening hours.

Shopping and Retail

We have a number of retail and office units available for business in the Centre's grounds. Many are open outside of the normal opening hours for the Windmill, so be sure to check before you arrive...
